Dear Mommy,

I have conquered many of my past fears.

In high school, I feared public speaking.
So, I joined the speech team.

Now, I can speak in front of thousands comfortably.
In fact, I did the Robo Cop dance on Reality TV in front of George Foreman.

Fear is a BIG MONSTER.
But if we understand FEAR more, we can live a happier and healthy life.

We fear something simply because we never experienced it.
We fear death, why?
We never experienced it.

The first time I was in front of the camera, I froze.
After a few times, I was on easy street.

When I go to auditions as an actor on commercials, everyone else in the room is nervous.

I’m not.

I am one cool cat.

Another trick to decreasing fear is to decrease the importance.
If I don’t the modeling gig, not the end of the world.
I will sleep and eat the same the very night.

Don’t let fear paralyze your life.

I had dinner with Harriet Shing last week at Garcon, a French Bistro in the Mission district. I had not seen her since we graduated from UC Berkeley.

While most Berkeley graduate took some traditional paths such as being attorneys and tax consultants, Harriet Shing ended up in Shanghai as the brand manager for Trussardi, a high end brand in the fashion world.

UC Berkeley did not have a major in fashion or merchandising, so she graduated and found a job working for Louis Vuitton in customer support, worked her way up, and got a job transfer to Shanghai’s LV store.

She took a risk, moved to Shanghai, and now she is in the middle of seeing global growth.

We spend much of our lives working, and I believe that we need to enjoy what we do. I believe that if we are working in an industry that we love, this helps us enjoy our career.

On Sunset Boulevard, a parade of cars followed each other venturing to a funeral burial.

Instantly, I exclaimed “life is so short!”

Friends, blog readers, we never know when our last heart beat will….
Ted Kennedy just died yesterday.

“The past is full of regrets, the future is full of anxieties, live in the PRESENT, this is something we can control.”

So don’t sweat the little stuff, this may include
- an under appreciated boss
- a jack ass that cut you off on the high way

Instead, spend a night with great family and friends, over some good food. If you have three really great friends, ones that you can share you life secrets with, you’re really lucky.

A few years ago, my uncle died from a heart attack while playing a video game. Ever since, I try to remind myself everyday to live to the fullest.

Mistakes I made.
Today, surprisingly none.

Something I did good today.
I spoke to Bob (not real name). I recruited him when I worked for DeVry. After graduating from UC Davis, he had no direction. So I introduce to him some books. Road Trip Nation topped the list. The book highlight how to make career decisions.

What I am struggling with.
My blog is ugly. But I think I make stick with it until Nick, or some other techy guy can help me.
