Dear mommy,
I had a mentoring session with Chef Chu and he taught me something that changed my life.
Lets state the obvious. Chef Chu is rich, successful, and charming.
But the remarkable thing is that when people walk through his restaurant, he knows their name and has a constant smile.
He is full of energy. He taught me one important lesson.
“Treat Everyday As the Opening Act.”
Staring into my eager eyes, he told me that getting up everyday to go to the restaurant can be tough after twenty years. Dealing with customers is though.
Chef Chu, who serves many Bay Area sport stars + celebrities, reminded me that the first day he opened his restaurant, he was so excited.
Filled with great hopes and expectation.
He reminded me that before I go to work each day, treat each day as the Opening Act.
Think about actors/actresses on Broadway. They have rehearsed the same lines for over thousands of time. Yet, when the curtain goes up, they act as if was their opening act.
Excited, fresh faced.
