Some of my friends come to me and say “I’m a loser.”
I say, “Alright. Congratulation, at least you found your identity.” (Sarcasm)
How can you tell if you’re a loser.
1} If you look in the mirror and say to yourself “I’m a Loser”, chances are, YOU ARE!
2} If you walk around with your head down and think the world owes you something
3} If you’re jealous of someone’s success
4} If 80% of your statements start with “If only I was …” such as “If only I was taller” +”If only I was smart”
the Good News,
If you’re a loser, it is not permanent, just temporary.
In reality, YOU’RE JUST LOSING.
What to do next?
Here’s the recipe.
1} Wash your face, preferably with a cleanser
2} Get a mentor. If you’re passion is to be an accountant, find a successful one. Spend $2 and buy them coffee.
Ask hard questions, don’t hold back.
“If you were me, how would you position yourself to be a partner in the firm in 10 years?”
I have done this. I interviewed Martin Yan (Yan Can Cook) and asked him what is the secret to being a TV Food Host. Answer, BE ENTERTAINING!
I asked, “did you have a girlfriend in college at UC Davis?”
Yan said, “my station wagon smells like sesame oil, no girl!”
I laughed.
3} Volunteer. If you lost your job or just got dumped, volunteer at the homeless shelter. Your mind and eyes will open, and you will realize, you don’t have it that bad.
I did this throughout my college days at UC Berkeley.
4} Take action. Don’t read this and not do nothing.
5} Skip. No one can never be sad while skipping, try it. It’s an old remedy.
